The saying "Cleanliness is next to godliness" emphasizes the importance of hygiene and order as fundamental virtues. In Ghana, this principle is especially relevant as the country faces ongoing challenges with sanitation. Poor waste disposal, open defecation, and inadequate access to clean water continue to affect public health and environmental conditions.
Efforts by government agencies, NGOs, and communities to promote sanitation—through public education, improved waste management systems, and enforcement of hygiene laws—are critical in fostering a healthier society. Upholding cleanliness not only prevents disease but also reflects respect for self, others, and the environment, aligning with both cultural values and moral responsibility.
Promoting cleanliness in Ghana is not just a health imperative—it's a civic and spiritual duty.

It is my heartfelt wish that our President would also add effective noise pollution control and Ramsar site protection to the performance assessment metrics of the appointed MMDCEs with automatic right to call on the Police to arrest and surcharge offending parties upon clear proof of infringement so that residents can enjoy their right to peace in their homes on one hand and also live in certainty flood waters will not suddenly invade their homes etc... .
