The Eco Warriors Movement in commemorating World Environment Day 2022 on the theme #onlyoneearth, has launched Project Environmental Information for All #enviroinfo4all. A statement by the Movement copied to ghenvironment.com explained that, the objective of the project is to make environmental education accessible to all by translating environmental information into local languages and sign language for people who are hearing impaired. It said, the project will lead to the production of infographics and soundbites that address community- specific environmental concerns. It will see to the creation of environmental clubs in high schools to further educate the youth and students on climate change and environmental sustainability.
“As part of walking the talk and not just talking the walk, the launch was marked with a clean-up exercise in the Fodoa community. Members of the club swept and cleaned the gutters along the main Kumasi-Accra highway. Others also held placards with various inscription to educate travelers and drivers who used the road. Some placards read like: Plant a tree if even its your last deed, A nation that destroys its soils destroys its future and many more”, the statement said. The president of the Movement, Mr. Otuo-Akyampong Boakye in his address after the clean-up exercise explained to the community, the importance of environmental cleanliness and the need for individuals to take up the responsibility of maintaining a clean environment.
He expressed his appreciation to the Community Solutions Program for their support. The project is led by Mr Otuo-Akyampong Boakye and Mad Mavis Okyere who are all fellows of the Community Solutions Program.
