The consequences of doing the wrong thing can be harsh. Encroachment is a problem. Forest Reserves, Wetlands, Government Lands, Public Utility Lands, too many people think it is fair game. Much as I feel empathy for those facing homelessness, think about it, would you ask the Police to overlook the actions of an armed robber who because the proceeds of the illegal actions were used to house his family? Doing the wrong thing with impunity is what has brought us to this point. Those building in Forest Reserves & Wetlands should take note

Unfortunate as it is, these structures are illegal and should never have been erected. They pose a danger to the community and the general public. The people who should have enforced the law and seen to it that this was not done should also be brought to book. Were building permits given for these houses?

Building on water ways is not allow i am thinking about how those affected will cope with the situation, it's rather unfortunate to invest all your resources in putting up a property and suddenly your property with be pulled down ,i pity with those affected, the question is were they allowed to build on the water ways?if yes then the regulators must be brought to answer questions by allowing them to build on the water ways ,if not, them they did that on their own risk .The building inspectors are not being proactive, they could have stop them from building on the water ways because no one cares so look at the results. It is rather unfortunate.

This must be done, as harsh as it seems, but I think going forward those charged to maintain law and order should be personally held accountable when they are negligent in their duty. In this case, whoever shouldn’t have but looked on while these buildings were coming up, or whoever gave them permits should be prosecuted. Enforcement of our laws prevents heartbreaking consequences like this.
